ABOUT

​Sonia is a socially engaged craft maker and placemaker.

 

Drawing on her Greek cultural heritage, her projects activate public spaces with participatory craft workshops and installations as a form of resistance.

​

Her text based banners, flags and signs examine socio- economic data and challenge perspectives on gender, class and cultural representations in urban environments.

​

Projects include collaborations with ACCA, Who's Afraid of Public Space, CAST RMIT, QVWC, Victoria Square Project, Athens and numerous schools, Councils, public art festivals and libraries.
