ABOUT

Sonia is a socially engaged craft maker and placemaker.

Drawing on her Greek cultural heritage and community development background, her projects activate public spaces with participatory craft workshops and installations as a form of resistance.

Her text based banners, flags and signs examine socio- economic data and challenge perspectives on gender, class and cultural representations in urban environments.

Projects include collaborations with ACCA, Who's Afraid of Public Space, CAST RMIT, QVWC, Victoria Square Project, Athens and numerous schools, Councils, public art festivals and libraries.
